Summer 2013 Anime (PREVIEW)

summer 2013 anime series

Phew. I actually made it through the Spring 2013 Season. It’s not without me skipping a decent amount of posts here and there, and I’ve posted around 74 reviews as of now for that season. Of course, we’re going to enter the hectic time when all anime are ending, and I have to churn out reviews of each series as a whole with the next season coming at the same time. It’s going to be really busy, and even if summer is generally considered to be one of the slower seasons, this time, I think it has plenty to offer.

But before I get started, I just want to say that I haven’t had the time to get new templates to do these previews due to me moving, and my monitor dying on me after I moved so you’ll have to stick with this layout again. I can safely promise now with everything out of the way that by the fall season, you’ll see a much more professional template. Enough of the excuses, let’s get on with it!

Note: I will only go over the anime that I think I’ll watch for at least one episode. This preview is going to be about my take on each series so don’t expect a lot of information.
Information on each series can be found on RandomC’s preview.

Love Lab

Status: Watch Only

Okay, so the reason why I lumped 6 anime together is pretty simple. I don’t have high expectations for any of these shows and I’m really only going to check out the first episode to see if it’s even worth continuing for a few more. Out of the 6, I would say that Love Lab, and Watashi ga Motenai~ are the ones that look the most… interesting. The former could be interesting depending on how the slice of life is done and whether the humor hits where it needs to hit, the latter is peculiar enough to warrant at least a first episode watch. Either way, I’m not going to waste time going in-depth with these shows when this summer season is fairly packed. Let’s move on!

Stella Jogakuin Koutouka C3-Bu

Status: Watch Only?

While the PV itself may not show anything at all other than some music very similar to ones you’d hear from Cowboy BebopStella Jogakuin Koutouka C3-Bu is going to be another military school girl type of anime. I haven’t had the pleasure of watching Girls und Panzer so I can’t really say how similar it is to that. What I can say, however is that if it has any kind of class similar to what’s shown in the PV, then I’ll be very pleased. However, going with a more realistic approach and actually reading what’s on the manga, the way the military aspects are incorporated into competitions and these games called C3 will determine how good this anime is. Not too much hope for from this one, but it’s a start.

Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou

Status: Watch Only?

Comedy, mystery, a (probably) sadist that just wants no more than to cut cut cut, and a guy that turns into a dog. Sounds interesting no? Well, it probably sounds more absurd than interesting. But hey, absurdities do make things interesting if done well. The premise itself is pretty fascinating so it’ll be up to the main protagonists how this anime excels. Moreover, if the male protagonist stays in the dog form the whole time I would be even more intrigued. It’s definitely weird, but weird things have weird potentials. It’s worth a shot at least.

Blood Lad

Status: Watch Only?

Some people are anticipating this anime quite greatly, but I’ve read quite a few chapters, and I can’t say I’m that impressed. Sure it’s interesting how Staz, the main character is interested in Japanese culture and interacting with humans instead of just sucking their blood dry (oh yeah, he’s a vampire), but I found the interactions fairly generic and nothing really stood out for me. However, I’m willing to give this another shot as the anime may do a better job of portraying some qualities I may have overlooked while reading the manga. But I’m definitely not anticipating this as much as other people.

Servant x Service

Status: First Impressions?

This come from the author of Working!! which should signal some alarms to people already. And I haven’t watched Working!!… Yeah… Okay, anyways, looking at the trailer, I can see myself enjoying this anime quite a bit. I’m not a huge fan of slice of life shows, but I’d say that I still like them because it’s entertaining watching the characters do their business. It has a lively atmosphere and if things I’ve heard about Working!! are indicators of how this anime will do, then I’ll probably be satisfied with how this one turns out. It’ll be an enjoyable slice of life for the season, but it probably won’t stand out too much for me.

Status: First Impressions

Now this is where some of the anime start getting pretty interesting. GATCHAMAN Crowds immediately interests me with its art style. Tatsunoko Productions did make the original series so they have a good idea of how to do a more modern approach to GATCHAMAN Crowds which is based on the original Gatchaman. Well, that and of course our female protagonist is voiced by Uchida Mayaa who is Rikka from Chuunibyou (Careful of spoilers). That, and the sci-fi elements make this a must watch for me. Definitely looking forward to it.

Uchouten Kazoku

Status: First Impressions

So this anime looks… interesting. I’m not really sure how else to explain this anime. I’d say that there are some excellent voice actors in this anime and that for some reason, it intrigues me. The art style isn’t magnificent by any means, but it makes me think that there’s a lot of fun to be had with the series. There are plenty of dynamic looking characters and it just looks like it’s going to be an enjoyable ride. It is based on a supposedly successful novel so… I am expecting a decent amount from this show.

Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou

Status: First Impressions

Mahou shoujo anime about tarot cards that can apparently read destinies and pull out some interesting looking weapons as shown in the PV? Hell yeah. This not only seems action packed, but it could be fairly dark as well with mysteries having, what seems to be, a key role in the series. It is an original series, and paired with the premise along with some nice voice actors, it’s absolutely worth a watch for a couple of episodes at least. It could be a big surprise. However, some are expecting it to be like a certain other anime, but I don’t think we should hold such expectations going into this.

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya

Status: Occassional Reviews?

Ohhh man. It’s Fate/Stay Night spin-off. I’m not well aquainted with the Fate universe at all, but looking at RandomC’s impression of the series, it does look to be promising. At first, I was wondering about what magical girls were doing in a Fate series, but then again, this unconventional turn may be a good thing. We do have characters from Fate/Stay Night making their appearances once more which is always nice. Hell, I’m probably just watching it because it’s part of the Fate series. Well, I’m sure most people who have watched Fate series are going to give this one at least a shot.

Gin no Saji

Status: Occassional Reviews?

The first thing that caught my attention about this is anime is that it’s based on the manga made by the author of Fullmetal Alchemist. Other than that, from the onset there’s nothing that really interests me that much. Although, the agricultural take may prove to be interesting. I’m sure that manga readers are glad that it’s finally being made into an anime. Looking around, I see praise after praise which is probably making me a lot more excited than I would be otherwise. It’s often difficult for me to do reviews when I know everything that’s about to happen and I’m already doing that with Shingeki no Kyojin. Therefore, this will be one that I’ll just be watching the anime of and if it’s good, then I’ll go back to read the manga after the anime is finished. That, or if the manga is different.

Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist

Status: Occassional Reviews

Originally, I was interested it because of the picture RandomC had on their preview. However, looking at a few comments talking about the main character being a realist and being different from typical protagonists, I took another look at the manga. After reading a few chapters, I can say that I’m very interested in what else it has to offer. Again, I’m not going to read it all because it’ll be hard for me to review, but also because I generally like anime more. Hell, our realist is voiced by no other than the person perfectly suited for such a role, Eguchi Takuya who voiced Hikigaya Hachiman in Yahari Ore no Seishun. Quite fitting no?

Danganronpa Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei The Animation

Status: Episodic Reviews?

Just reading the premise has already gotten me excited about what’s to come in Dangaronpa. Seriously, having to kill a classmate  and not get caught to graduate is one thing, but to have everyone else get killed if they don’t figure out who it is is even more tense. Moreover, if the person is found out and killed, that still leaves the rest of them battling it out. Man, I wonder what it’ll be like at the end? Thinking about it has already got my blood going. These types of anime are filled with deceit, betrayals, friendship, fake alliances, and all kinds of crazy goodness. Just imagine if it becomes a one versus one. No, actually, it’s even more crazy to imagine how it’ll get to that point. I’m hoping for some really interesting mind games here along with some great characters. That’ll make this anime truly an enthralling watch.

High School DxD NEW

Status: For the fanservice.

Alright, let’s be honest, WE NEED OUR FANSERVICE OF THE SEASON. Here to bring us that, and some actual plot, is High School DxD NEW. I watched the first season and thought that the boobs are nice. Seriously, boobs. But I actually read a few volumes of the Light Novel and really liked what I read. The anime didn’t have as fancy animations as the ones that were going on in my head, but it does do a decent job nonetheless. There’s even some story and progression in the characters so it’s not full of mindless fanservice all the time. But… seriously, boobs. Boobs. Boobs and boobs. Hopefully we’ll get another well animated ED like last time.

Kimi no Iru Machi

Okay, so here’s where we get really serious with some nice shit. Well, or raging shit in Kimi no Iru Machi’s case. I don’t read manga nearly as much as I watch anime, but this is a manga that I have actually read up until the latest chapter. To be honest, I was quite obsessed with this manga 2 years ago when I originally read it. I think I went a little overboard to be honest and read with extreme detail. Anyways, since then, I’ve been checking back week to week and uhh…. let’s just say it’s not that great now and is full of fillers. HOWEVER, from what you will see of this anime, just be really prepared for some rage worthy moments. Seriously. There is some serious romance going on. Some SERIOUS DRAMATIC MOMENTS. Some HEART WRENCHING SHIT. Eh. Actually more like you just want to strangle something. But yeah, I’m anticipating this because… to see other people’s reactions and JUST BECAUSE IT’S KNIM, THE TOWN WHERE YOU RAGE.

Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi

Status: Episodic Reviews

Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi is definitely the anime I’m most interested in this season when it comes to anime I’m unfamiliar with until very recently. It’s adapted from an award winning Light Novel and is now being produced by Madhouse. Those two things would already make me very interested, but the premise makes it even more apparent to me that this is a must watch for this season. Well, at least the first episode. Looking at the PV, I’m already shitting my pants because of the animations. I think above all else, the premise just really interests me. All this about God’s departure and these Gravekeepers make me very curious. Other than that, we’ll have to see what this adaptation can do, and you can probably expect some reviews of this anime.

IT’S. TIME. FOR. FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! YEEEAAAH SUMMER IS HERE AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT PEOPLE DO DURING SUMMER. SWIM. AND LIVE FREELY. Alright, everyone knows about Free! now. People are calling it fujoshi bait, people are calling it FABULOUS, people are calling it KyoAni’s attempt for some MONEY MONEY MONEY. Well, of course it’s about the money, but IT’S ALL ABOUT THE FABULOUSNESS. Seriously, how long does it take for their hair to sway? Damn, that’s just too strong. KYOANI TOO STRONG. FREE! TOO STRONG. I’LL PREPARE MY BODY BUT IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE ANYTHING CAN MATCH DEM MUSCLES.

Monogatari Series: Second Season

Status: No shit.

Alright, alright, lastly we can’t forget about my most anticipated anime of this season, Monogatari Series: Second Season. I wasn’t there for Nisemonogatari, but I was there for Nekomonogatari: Kuro. I do enjoy the Monogatari series quite a bit. While we’re still waiting for Kizumonogatari, this will appease some of our needs for more dialogue, dialogue AND DIALOGUE! There’s not really much for me to say for those who have watched the previous seasons as you’d all know what to expect. For those who don’t know, I suggest giving Bakemonogatari a shot. If dialogue is your thing, then you’ll love this anime. And I do mean LOTS OF DIALOGUE. Definitely my most anticipated anime of the season along with the fabulousness that is you know what.

Summer 2013 Anime Preview Roundup

Well, looking back at my Spring 2013 Anime Preview, I made a lot of shitty predictions. HELL, LOOK AT WHAT I SAID FOR VALVRAVE (Careful of spoilers). God, I’m totally ashamed of myself. Then again, no one could have predicted just how amazing Valvrave would become. Anyways, this is definitely a busy summer season even if it’s considered one of the two slower seasons. Thursdays full of things as usual, but Saturday… Saturday is absolute KILLER especially for me. I have just about 5 reviews I want to do on that day alone. That’s not even adding in Shingeki no Kyojin either!

Sure enough, while I’m watching 22 different anime, I’ll undoubtedly drop more than a couple along the way. Still, there are many attractive shows this season full of potential. It doesn’t really have many super hard hitters, but there are solid ones all around to choose from. Looking forward to watching, and reviewing whatever I can. Hopefully I won’t burn out too badly with wanting to do 13 first impressions. I’ll make no promises about first impressions as the first and second week are very hectic with me trying to upload the OP and ED as well. I will try my best. However, after the first impressions expect a drop in the number of reviews every week. There’s absolutely no way I can keep up 13 reviews per week as I’ve been fairly crazy in the time I’ve taken with some of my reviews recently (2-4 hours each with the Valvrave finale (Spoilers!) being 5+). Here comes yet another season. Let’s get rolling!

Hm, this season looks pretty nice. I’m unfamiliar with a lot of these so it’ll be interesting to watch how some of these go. Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi is definitely my most anticipated one. Dangaronpa sounds pretty interesting as well. I wonder how much fanservice is in Choujigen xD

    • Entrav

Choujigen? I’m hoping for plenty of fanservice to keep me occupied. Uhhmm pun intended? Lol :D

    • xxbabaxx

Choujigen is so hyped in jap once when the Galgame came out, you had no idea. So much Figures had been made of the main heroines, posters, fan manga for Comiket pretty much exploded at the time. So yea … theres gonna be SO MUCH “PLOT” to see.

  • xxbabaxx

This season is all about the adaptations, hopefully they do a good job, and you r right most of thevin manga version isn’t promising already haha. Bloodlab, i actually read up untill this year and stopped some others are gal game, psp gamr adaptations, and we all know what those anime are like^^”.

    • Entrav

Yeah, I hope they do. I’m not worried about my top 3 picks, but I’m a bit worried about Kimi no Iru Machi. I really hope they do a good job with that because if done well, I can see a lot of people liking/hating it. Anyways, I’m just looking forward to the reactions for KNIM.

Danganronpa and Makai Ouji definitely interest me quite a bit though. They look promising. Kami-sama is probably going to do well. Great source material and a solid studio. On a sidenote, they did do Photokano which leaves a stain on their reputation. Jesus, that anime is just… bad.

      • xxbabaxx

haha oh yea …. i was like this shit is gonna be good, since amagami. but well … dropped it after 4 ep. you know is bad when u can just download it by a click of a button but CBF.

any pod cast this time ?

        • Entrav

I’m not sure about the manga for Kami-sama, but it’s the Light Novel that is the main source material and it has 7 volumes with an award made originally in 2010 so it’s not that new. At least, I hope they’re adapting the Light Novel, but I haven’t heard anything about the manga really.

Danganronpa… I really hope it’s not Robotics;Notes. Oh God that was bad. Let’s not even talk about it.

Yeeeeh Monogatari will be an enjoyable ride. Well, I’m going to be checking out most of these so I hope they’re good.

Man, it’s always these dates that are so packed. Hard on me though :)

Yes, we’ll definitely be doing a podcast (well, 2 for that matter), but I cannot tell you a specific date. What I am hoping to do is one podcast for the Spring 2013 Season and another one after we watched the first couple of episodes of the anime for the new summer season. We live kind of far, so we want to do it alongside each other. I’m probably not going to do a Youtube Version of the Spring 2013 Season roundup because that just takes way too much time, but I’ll most likely do one for the summer season.

Again, we’re not sure when. It’ll be out when it’s out I guess :)

  • Cassandra@Book&Movie Dimension

Free!, Blood Lad, Chou Jigen Game Neptune: The Animation and Danganronpa Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei The Animation.

But Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi is the one most excited for. The premise seems sort of dark and much more intense which like in anime.

    • Entrav

Yep, I’m pretty excited for Kami-sama. It looks really nice so far and the source material is dependable. Free! is just going to be fabulous. The rest are looking pretty decent too. Pretty nice for a summer season.

  • evilnemesis

Meh aside for a few shows summer is going to be pretty shitty. Not as shitty as last winter, but still.

At least there’s going to be DxD for all that PLOT and the oh so glorious ara ara ufufu- of Akeno’s VA, gosh the things that voice does to my dick.

Fall just can’t come quickly enough. Aside from the fact VALVRAVE AOTYAY S2 is coming up. There’s a lot of sports adaptation for the fan that I am.

Diamond no Ace gets an anime ( one of the best baseball mangas )

    Basugays S2

And last but not least Yowamushi Pedal also gets an anime.

It looks like it will have a lot of PLOT as well.

    – IS S2 ( was this really necessary, the only good thing about the show was Charlotte )

    – Sekai De Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai! ( It’s about an Idol who decides to go into wrestling, oh gosh all those females just grabbing each other DAAAAT PLOOOOOOOT )

    – Walkure Romanze ( straight from a VN, MC was a knight but then his master told him to gtfo cause he injured himself in some kind of final at what you’d consider the junior leagues. Fast forward to “high school” He’s now entering as some pseudo assistant that all knights have, and of course all the knights are girls ( no seriously what the fuck ) and they all start to crave his dick )

    – White album 2 ( is this a remake or the continution ? w/e the case just like Walkure Romanze it’s an Adult VN.

AND THEN THERE’S FUCKING VALRAVE R2 AH YEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Fall 2012 was pretty good, looks like Fall 2013 will be pretty gud as well. Sasuga Sunrise

    • Entrav

      LOL. Your Akeno comment.

Honestly, I’d rather just do VALVRAVE this season because I actually have time. In Fall, I have no idea. *Sigh. Oh well.

I still think the summer season is strong because it’s a summer season. Usually, it’s weaker than this but we may have some nice shows this time to fill in the gap for the next.

I’m not sure about anything for the fall season, but it should be super busy as usual. Last fall was pretty great with Shin Sekai Yori, Psycho-Pass, Zetsuen no Tempest, and so on. Looking forward to this Fall because VALVRAAAVVEE!! AOTYAYEY.

      • evilnemesis

Haha I get you. Fall is usually a pretty season all around for people. Hey at least you weren’t cursed ( pun intended ) like my friend.

Right after episode 10 he has to go for 6 months in the army reserve and basically won’t be able to watch the last 2 episodes and the S2.

        Now that’s suffering right there.

        • Entrav

Daaaaaaammnnnnnnn… Now THAT’S A CLIFFHANGER. Seriously, I would be doing weird shit in the army if that were the case due to lack of Valvrave dosage. Being your friend is SUFFERING.

But hey, at least he can prepare his body.

  • The Atomic Dwarf

Watashi ga Motenai and Danganronpa. These 2 will be the hidden gems of this season. If you don’t review em at least watch them for the luls and the shock man :). I’ve read the manga on the first and played the game for the second. They have a huuuuuuge potential.

As for the rest. Except the TNA Talkshow that is Monogatari and the drama filled (this MC deserves a School Days style death! Horny devil!) that is Kimi no Iru Machi, I won’t watch the rest. That and maybe TWOGK maayyybe.

    • xxbabaxx

^ The MC should be chopped like few hundred chapter before already.

    • Entrav

Okay, I’ll definitely take your advice on that. I’m checking out everything I’ve said in this preview for sure though so no worries :)

Hey hey, the MC of KNIM has his reasons. Can’t deny the LOVE he has.

NO FREE? JUST WATCH FOR THE FABULOUSNESS! Haha, it’s not for everyone though I’m sure. I’ll have to see how good my top picks are.

      • The Atomic Dwarf

Free? Don’t… tempt… me! I don’t wanna fall into that trap again! Happened with BnP and it won’t happen again!

        • Entrav

Don’t worry, it’s KyoAni. They’ll find a way. FABULOUS BISHOUNEEEENNNN!!!

  • YuNeeKorn

Wait, Doesn’t “The World God Only Knows” (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai) Season 3 also some out this season as well?

    • Entrav

Yes, as I’ve said in the beginning, I am only going to go over series that I will watch at least one episode of. I have not seen the previous seasons of TWOGK so I will not be watching the third season. For more information, please visit RandomC which has a more comprehensive list. Mine is really only my opinions on each of them. There’s no need for me to repeat the information when there already is a fantastic source.

  • Drig

Gin no Saji deserves better treatment :X . I’m hyped to watch an anime with a refreshing new plot. I have high expectations for it. Esp. since I love SoL anime. Plus, the author’s previous work was FMA…….Can’t get any better than that!

I’m wary of Free and KyoAni. Too many pretty looking boys…………

KNIM…………I’m gonna skip it. Don’t have enough in me to rage, rage, rage every week. Esp. if its pacing is like the manga’s. Plus, I’m a bit disappointed with the anime’s art right now. The OVA didn’t look promising either.

Danganronpa is very VERY intriguing. Servant x Service seems interesting as well.

    TWGOK?!?!? ( This season right? ) Kami-sama?

This summer is gonna be a bit of a downer for me. None of the anime except Gin and Dangan look like they can provide me with as much entertainment as Chihayafuru 2, Uchuu Kyoudai, OreGairu and Valvrave did last season.

BTW, Uchuu Kyoudai is gonna continue in the summer………..right?

    • Entrav

Don’t worry. I’ll at the very least watch Gin no Saji. If it’s good, which it probably will be, I’ll do some reviews of it.

Nonononoononono. Can’t go wrong with KyoAni and pretty boys. They did pretty girls pretty well so the reverse should also be true haha.

I didn’t even bother with the OVA as it looks really… off to me. It’s a different studio though now with the anime so hopefully it’ll look a bit better.

TWGOK is in this season. I didn’t watch the previous seasons so I’m not going to bother with it.

Yes, those two are in the season as well, but I didn’t watch the last season for any of those two shows. I was planning to, but then things happened.

I’m pretty sure Uchuu Kyoudai will continue. Yep. I have to catch up with that damn.

A bit too busy for me on Saturdays, but otherwise looking pretty good.

  • Dycize

Looking at this list I’ll be watching… WataMote, because I read the manga and it’s chockfull of comedic depression. And now it’s going to be animated. How can I not want to watch it? Also, Chou Jigen Neptune because I never got to play the games and always found the premise to be pretty funny (and the story itself not being very serious helps).

Tempted to watch Gatchaman Crowds just because Gatchaman, even if I never watched that one. Dangan Ronpa will be a definite watch, It looks interesting and I heard good things about the games, so who knows?

Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi is also a definite watch for me. I read what’s translated of the manga adaptation and it definitely has a pretty unique style. I’ll keep watching the Monogatari series because it’s the Monogatari series.

Now for the things I’m on the fence about… Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya. The former for non-sunday morning mahou shoujo, the latter because typemoon stuff on crack tends to be really pretty funny.

Not planning on watching Free because… It never interested me? Even before we learned what it was. Ah well.

    • Entrav

Well, I’ll tell you guys about Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya whether I make a review of it or not. I’ll just briefly talk about it on Facebook or something to give you guys a general impression. Actually, if I don’t review a series it’s probably because I’m just not interested so that’s an indicator in and of itself.

Freeeeeeee!! It’s just for fabulousness, and I can understand that not every person wants to watch that. Oh well, maybe KyoAni can put some interesting story elements in. Not sure at this point though.

  • Gamematio

    • thebageldude

you watched episode 1 yet? is it good? it feels like its another boku no pico………

      • Gamematio

        Yeah, i liked it XD

  • Gamematio

there are a lot of monotagari things because it’s a form of literature but I have only seen the anime adaptions of Bakemonotagari, that anime follows till Nekomonotagari and then the other adaption of it is Nisenmonotagari which is the whole imposter thing with Kaki, and now the other season right? is that how the Bakemonotagari story follows right (super confused because every time I’m watching it I feel like, I’m missing something, but that’s how it goes for the Bakemonotagari series right?)

    • Gamematio

What I mean is that in order this is the anime adaptations:
      Nekomonogatari: Kuro (prequel of Bakemonogatari)
      Monogatari Series: Second Season
is that the order of the anime adaptations right?

      • The Atomic Dwarf

Pretty much, yea. With the still unaired Kizumonogatari as a prequel to all of them. Honestly the anime doesn’t do the LN’s justice. If you really loved the series despite the violent PLOTS thrown all over the place, I recommend reading the novels as well

        • Entrav

But honestly, a lot of it is lost in translation because of all the puns and stuff. It’s very difficult, if not impossible to give us how it was originally. Nonetheless, the translators do a great job of doing whatever they can.

          • Gamematio

No worrys, I’m japanese, I can read in Japanese. Just need to buy them

          • Entrav

That’s pretty awesome. You can read it the way it’s meant to be read haha.

        • Gamematio

yeah, I feel like that was needed, a prequel to it all, I mean … the story behind Shinobu and Araragi has kind of been explained but … well, not to a good point, if that’s what you mean by “a prequel to it all” then I will love to watch it when it airs. Thank You

  • Gamematio

Kimi no Iru Machi is only 2 OVA’s right?

    • Entrav

That was before. The 2 OVAs were like other stuff that I don’t think are even important. I heard those were not that good compared to the manga.

Now, we have hopefully an actual adaptation of the manga.

It’ll actually be relevant and if it follows the manga loyally, it should be good. HEHEHE REAL GOOD MWAHAHAHAH.

      • Gamematio

Oh ok, thanks, if you know a website where I could watch it (since my mom doesn’t like me to watch anime cause otaku shit so I watch it in the computer) can you post it … please :)

        • Entrav

First of all, I have a few questions. Do you have a decent sized hard drive? Do you have limited bandwidth? If so, how much? Do you have to watch streams? I never watch streams nowadays because there are far superior alternatives. Therefore, I can’t really give you a website where you can watch it. I can give you a *cough*torrent*cough*

          • Gamematio

hmmm, I watch streams. Normally watch them in

          • Entrav

Okay, I recommend people to use Crunchyroll or other legal sites, almost all of them can be found here:

is not one that is legal, so you might as well just torrent the anime instead and support the industry in other ways like buying DVDs or BD or something like that since you can’t watch some anime legally.

If you have decent bandwidth, I suggest you go to download their latest one (on the left). Install everything, the Media Player Classic, and the codec packs.

After that, install Vuze or some other Bittorrent client and go to websites like or and download the appropriate anime. This way, you don’t have to go on those stream websites every time and it’ll be a lot easier on you.

HOWEVER, remember that try your best to go the legal route if you can. If you can’t then you might as well just torrent it because watching it off an illegal streaming site doesn’t give benefits to those who made the anime anyways. Just support the industry if you like the anime that you watch by buying merchandise, DVD, BD, and so on. I don’t expect you to ship it over from Japan because that’s insanely expensive, but maybe buy series off of Funimation or something when it is licensed.

          • The Atomic Dwarf

Nobody forces you to purchase all and everything (that’s downright otaku level) But say, if you really like an author than try and support his work, even if by a little, be it digital or phisycal products.

          • Entrav

I’m not sure if you’re saying that I’m telling him to purchase everything, but that’s certainly not what I meant if that’s the case. I don’t expect anyone to buy as much as some otaku people do.

Oh and I just want to clarify the word “otaku” for those reading (especially Gamematio). It seems that a lot of times when I see the word being used, it has such a negative connotation. I won’t deny that the term has been popularized that way, but originally, it’s just meant as a label for people who have a very strong interest in something. Hell, I could call my friend who loves programming an otaku. I could call a person who is obsessed about music an otaku. There’s nothing wrong with being an otaku. It’s just that some otaku do some things like leech off of their family and then when it’s reported on news, the word “otaku” gets put side by side with that negativity. That, and other things have really twisted the word up.

          • Gamematio

Remember … here in Japan … “otakus’ are bad .. I don’t consider myself and otaku … no one does, my mom just wants to prevent that. She sees it as bad … as almost everyone here does. I’ll just watch it on the tv .. I’ll just tell her I’m gonna watch a cartoon, and don’t get me wrong she is kind of liberal I mean … she lets me play games in that “otaku” aspect but … she is just … I guess she doesn’t want her son to be a so called “disappointment”. It’s my mom … I like her, and I feel good in my own skin so … I don’t hesitate, you just have to be smarter than they are, and thanks for the comments guys :)

          • Entrav

            Yeah, no problem.

I’m not going to delve into the word “otaku” anymore, but I may put that as a blog post sometime in the future. It definitely has a negative connotation in Japan, but it’s interesting considering it didn’t start off that way and really, even Taro Aso is claimed to be an otaku and he was the prime minister of Japan before. But this topic can go on and on though so I’ll just leave it here.

          • Gamematio

No need to ship it from Japan … I’m already there :)

          • Entrav

Aaaaaaa right. I thought you moved to America or something because your English is pretty good for someone who’s not a native speaker. Did you learn all your English in Japan?

          • Gamematio

No, my father is American, he thought me English before Japanese … I guess you can say when I was little I couldn’t speak that well to other little kids .. but now i speak perfect english and japanese my problem in english is the pronounciation it’s tricky for me, but I guess I do speak a very good English thanks. (don’t know how to write pronounciation … always confuse it, and in Japan … people like to speak English that’s the .. cool thing, but I have barely seen any who perfect it)’

        • The Atomic Dwarf

I feel sorry for you man, but honestly just watching anime doesn’t label you as an otaku. Well as far as streaming sites go. If you have the bandwidth for it Crunchyroll is a legal streaming site I recommend. Not sure if it has the OVA’s you are looking for tho.

          • Gamematio

I know but … you know how mothers are …. My dad doesn’t give a crap. He is not Japanese so … he understands me … the woman … doesn’t DX
